Background

She is a Neuromind Postdoctoral Fellow at Ruhr University Bochum and an empirically-informed philosopher of mind, hoping to contribute to our understanding of human and machine cognition by integrating knowledge from various disciplines, including linguistics, psychology, computer-, and neuroscience.

Earlier this year, she defended my PhD in Neurophilosophy at the Graduate School of Systemic Neurosciences (GSN) at LMU Munich under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Ophelia Deroy. Her dissertation investigated the relationship between our conscious states and cognitive processes from the perspective of predictive processing.

Before joining Dr. Deroy’s research group, Cognition, Values & Behaviour, she received an MSc degree in Mind, Language & Embodied Cognition from the University of Edinburgh. There she wrote my thesis on prediction and efficient language processing under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Andy Clark.

Previously, she also obtained an HBSc in linguistics and mathematics from the University of Toronto, where she was a laboratory manager and research assistant at the Consciousness and Wisdom Studies Lab in 2015-2017 as well as a research assistant at Technologies for Aging Gracefully Lab in 2016.
