Background
Jimena Zapata is a Spanish and Peruvian multidisciplinary professional with academic training and work experience in both, Practicing Law and Philosophy & Arts, gained in different European, Asian and South-American countries.
In the legal field: She is since 2007 a Practicing European Lawyer (Bar Association of Valencia, Spain) and has over 15 years of experience in Corporate, International Business and Civil Law, specializing in the last 9 years in CSR Strategies and Social International Projects consulting. She obtained a B.A. (Best Academic Record) in Law at the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru, a M.A. in Legal Practice at the University of Valencia (Spain), a M.A. in Tax Consultancy and Financial Management, and another in Development International Cooperation, Public Policies and NGO Management, both at the University of Granada (Spain).
In the Humanities field: She obtained a B.A. in Literary Theory and Comparative Literature at the University of Granada (Spain), a Cultural Management Certificate at the University of Vienna (Austria) and a Research M.A. in Logic and Philosophy of Science at the University of Granada, writing her thesis under the title "The Context-Dependence of Normative Terms in Spanish Supreme Court Judgments". She had also coordinated both, educational and social projects, in Spain and South America.
As a result of this merger, currently, she is enrolled in a cotutelle and joint PhD program in Philosophy at Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München (Germany) and the University of Granada (Spain) and is working on issues at the intersection of Philosophy of Mind and Language, Social Epistemology and Philosophy of Law.

Current Project
She is currently examining the mechanisms of harm in conversations by focusing on silence. Her main aim is to identify the possibilities of preventing speech harm and countering harmful speeches, which impede the lawful exercise of fundamental human rights, with more speech.
